By now you know my first choice in any gift-giving situation is almost always going to be a book. Even for nonreaders (picture books for toddlers, say; coffee-table books for, you know, those who are capable but choose not to).
I’ve written quite a bit about this, and it occurs to me—what with Christmas almost upon us—you might need a little help. So here are all my gift-giving book lists to help you with last-minute ideas. All are books I own and have read too.
The Twelve+ Books of Christmas
This list categorizes suggestions: fiction for guys; fiction for gals; books for those who dream of travel or enjoy romance or memoir; art books, science books, history books, graphic novels … there’s a suggestion here for everyone on your list!

There are some books that are just magic. Here are some I find particularly charming.

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
This list of children’s Christmas books ran earlier this month, but my compendium wouldn’t be complete without it.
